Who We Serve
Massachusetts MENTOR serves two populations: children and families at-risk who are involved with the Department of Social Services; and children and adults with developmental disabilities.Children and Families at-Risk. We believe that children at risk are best served in homes within communities as transitions to safe, permanent living environments. Our Mentor model has helped thousands of children and adolescents throughout the years gain stability, comfort and confidence through healthy relationships with responsible, caring adults. In addition to therapeutic foster care placements, MENTOR supports children and families within DSS in many ways, all geared toward strengthening and advancing their path to permanency.
Adults and Children with Developmental Disabilities. MENTOR's residential and non-residential programs for people with Developmental Disabilities allow for individual choice and community integration while meeting the unique and often complex needs of each individual served. MENTOR provides people who have Developmental Disabilities programs that range in intensity and setting according to their needs and desires – from highly supervised residential programs to job coaching and supported living. The people who come to MENTOR are often transitioning from more restrictive environments such as larger group homes or institutions.
