Bringing Caring Closer

Founded in 1980, Massachusetts MENTOR provides community-based services to children and families at-risk and people with developmental disabilities. Our residential services are provided by a network of local caregivers called "Mentors" who share their homes with the individuals we serve.

Our Mentor families are carefully selected and supported by ten program offices throughout Massachusetts – each offering a range of residential and non residential services.Massachusetts MENTOR is a trusted partner of the Massachusetts Department of Social Services and the Massachusetts Department of Mental Retardation.  Together, the children and adults we serve, their families, their Mentors, our program staff and our public partners form a community of caring that renews hope, strengthens the spirit and enables positive life choices.

We are part of The MENTOR Network, a national network of local human service providers, offering an array of quality, community-based services to adults and children with developmental disabilities or acquired brain injury; to children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral and medically complex challenges; and to elders in need of home care.
